Guru's Jazzmatazz Vol. 4
The Hip Hop Jazz Messenger:
"Back To The Future"
In Stores Tuesday July 17
Guru's Jazzmatazz returns, this time with super-producer Solar seamlessly melding
Jazz and Hip Hop into a sonic web that crosses cultures and breaks barriers.
There is no better example of this than “Living Legend”, the collaboration between
Guru, Solar and Jazz Legend David Sanborn."Living Legend" blends Sanborn's smooth
as silk saxophone with Guru's laid-back, cool and confident flow. The collaboration's
title says it all--two "living legends" and the true connection between Jazz and
Hip Hop.

David Sanborn on new album by Ween
David's in the studio working on his next album at the moment, but you
can tide yourself over until it's eventual release by checking out the
latest album by singular pop group Ween, La Cucaracha. In
stores now, David appears on the song "Your Party." According to band
member Dean Ween, the band long ago vowed to never use horns, unless
"we could get David Sanborn to play some sexy saxophone."
David's back on the road...and in the studio soon
David is recovering from his bout with pneumonia and has decided he wants to play out his tour dates. Our apologies to those fans at the few shows he had to
cancel but we’ll see you next time. This is the first time in David’s
career that he’s cancelled a show due to health issues, and hopefully it will be the last.
In other news, David is heading into the studio with an old friend, legendary producer Phil Ramone, on September 20 to begin work on his first album for Decca/Universal. Stay tuned for more details.
Happy Birthday David!
David turns 62 today. Please join us at DavidSanborn.com in wishing him a wonderful day!
